The BER process, a proprietary chemical-pasteurization and nutrient- enhancement (fortification) technology, uses agricultural chemicals to stabilize, deodorize, and add value in the form of macro plant nutrients, making use of native trace-minerals as micro nutrients, to produce salable fertilizers with unique N:P:K analysis formulations--as demanded by end -market-buyers' requirements. A Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system manages and automates the BER process, and can interface with and operate the entire WWTP. The proprietary SCADA management system (PC based) ensures the production of a Class A, (enhanced) "exceptional quality fertilizer". The BER method is a PFRP or process for the Further Reduction of Pathogens.
PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT PROVIDES THE USER WITH A WIDE RANGE OF END PRODUCT OPTIONS . . . By choosing and reacting the appropriate
combinations of chemicals, 6-18-1(+)(S) using ammonia and Phos Acid Urea can be used to adjust the NPK levels if desired. The fertilizer product is granular, free flowing and possesses an average crush strength of 5 pounds, allowing blending compatibility with commercial grade fertilizers. The organic base in the product varies from 20% to 80% by dry weight (depending on desired formulation). The end product has a moisture content of 5%. The BER process and SCADA manager is menu-driven so that myriad formulations of fertilizer can be produced . . . typical qualities inherent in the fertilizer product: Carbon: 18 - 30% - depending on formulation Organic substrate: 20 - 80% (dry) - depending on formulation Product Wt: 48 - 54 lbs per cubic foot Pathogen Count: Below detectable limits Non-Detectable:
* The final fertilizer product is odorless . . .
FERTILIZER PRODUCT:
Payson, Arizona currently manufactures a mAP 24 grade (mono ammonium phosphate) which is being sold to golf courses and horticultural outlets . . . mAP 24 = N:P:K of 6% Nitrogen, 18% P2O5 , and 1% K2O... (This product is 24% inorganic, 2% moisture, 74% organic) This product is being sold for between $100 and $130/ton.
Payson has reduced its solids removal cost from $300/ton to less than $100/ton . . .
Fertilizer grades can be customized and changed at will depending on the needs and demands of the buying end-market. Specific menu additions for grade combinations can be added at any time - it is user-market driven and thus becomes economically viable in virtually any region.
USE OF THE BER PROCESS ALLOWS THE WWTP OPERATOR FULL ACCOUNTING FOR EVERY POUND OF SOLIDS HANDLED . . . THERE IS NO GUESSWORK WITH MONEY AND EFFORT SPENT IN SOLIDS MANAGEMENT, THUS OPTIMIZING BIOSOLIDS MANAGEMENT SPENDING.
